Need help installing GD

  • I need help installing GD on my Dedicated Server (I am hosting at venturesonline if that makes a difference)

    We are running Linux version 2.4.21 / PHP Version 4.3.2 and SQL version 4.0.13.

    I need to know as detailed as possible how I go about adding GD to my board.

    Can someone help out?

    With VB3 I am sure a lot of us UNIX newbies will want to add GD to their servers.

  • I am running Cpanel, but unfortunately I do not have that option. :(

    I can telnet into my server though, but thats probably doing it the hard way, any ideas?
    If you are running CPanel 7 (the latest stable version), in WHM, scroll down to update programs, and click on "Rebuild Apache" - then choose GD as a PHP module, plus any other PHP modules. And recompile Apache. GD will then be added automatically. :)

  • since you have dedicated server all you need to do is recompile PHP with --with-gd option

    if you use whm/cpanel you can run /scripts/easyapache

    and select option 6 and then check php settings for GD and save and let the script update you
